The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has launched the free online series "Into the Choreo-/Photo-graphy" by promising choreographer Terry Tsang.

With a theme blending choreography and photography, the four-episode series explores how dance visuals influence the moments captured by cameras and how these images inspire choreographic creations.

The first episode, a monologue by Tsang that shares and re-creates the scenarios of his exploratory journey of choreography and photography, is now available for viewing online.

The second episode is a selection of stage photos with reminiscences from Tsang and other choreographers. A group of dancers reimagine the scenes and reinterpret the works.

The content of the third episode comes from Tsang's selected photographic archives. He delves into his photography concept and injects new life into photos to make them become new works.

In the fourth episode, Tsang chats with a veteran choreographer and a stage photographer. They share their artistic preferences and ideas, and record their photo-shooting in the same scenario.

For the launch of the second, third and fourth episodes, please follow the announcements on the website at www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/dance/programs_1025.html and the LCSD Cultural Presentations Section's Facebook page.

A nominee of Outstanding Performing Male Dancer in the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2019, Terry Tsang is a young local choreographer and dancer. He has performed frequently in Hong Kong and has been invited to attend various dance festivals in Asia and Europe. He is devoted to dance photography and has established photo_t.jj to explore the possibilities and variance of body movements.

The programme is conducted in Cantonese. To view the online programme, please visit the LCSD's Online Resources Centre at www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/onlineresources.html. For programme enquiries or more information, please call 2268 7323 or visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/cp.
