Two more contractor’s workers of Water Supplies Department tested positive and preliminarily positive respectively for COVID-19

     The Water Supplies Department (WSD) today (July 24) said that two more contractor's workers at the department's Tuen Mun Water Treatment Works tested positive and preliminarily positive respectively for COVID-19, subsequent to the contractor's worker tested positive yesterday (July 23). There is no effect on drinking water safety.

     The two contractor's construction workers last went to work on July 20 and 23 respectively. In light of the contractor's worker tested positive for COVID-19 last night, the two other workers were arranged to undergo virus testing. They were notified today that they were tested positive and preliminarily positive respectively. They have been admitted to hospital under isolation. They are now in stable condition.

     The workers wore a surgical mask at work. They underwent temperature screening at work and their body temperatures were normal. The WSD has thoroughly cleaned and disinfected Tuen Mun Water Treatment Works. The department will maintain close liaison with the Centre for Health Protection. Staff have been reminded to pay attention to personal hygiene and to stay vigilant. They should seek medical advice immediately if feeling unwell.
