Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tuen Mun last night (January 20) in which a 13-year-old boy died.
At about 6.47pm, a Light Rail train driven by a 44-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Road – Hung Shui Kiu towards Tuen Mun. When approaching near Yick Yuen Road, a bicycle driven by a 13-year-old boy crossing the railway reportedly collided with the train.
Sustaining multiple injuries, the 13-year-old boy was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 7.48pm.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
