Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po this morning (September 24) in which an 83-year-old man died.
 
     At about 9.20am, a bus driven by a 47-year-old man was travelling along Cheung Sha Wan Road towards Mong Kok. When approaching the junction of Cheung Sha Wan Road and Nam Cheong Street, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.
 
     Sustaining head injuries, the 83-year-old man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 10.54am.
 
     The bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late October.
 
     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
