"2019 Summer Fun Party – Explore Nature in Summer", organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), will be held this Saturday and Sunday (July 20 and 21) from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Admission is free and members of the public are welcome to join.
With a theme of exploring nature, the carnival will showcase an array of interesting programmes. The children's musical "Journey to the Secret Treasure" will tell a story of three children in a treasure hunt from which they learn to enjoy and conserve nature. Other stage performances will include sand painting, a recycled percussion performance and puppet theatre.
The event will also present a variety of educational and fun-filled workshops, including upcycling postcards, frottage, potted plant recycling, leaf-whistling and "A little bird told me" storytelling. The activities aim to teach children to love nature through arts. In addition, there will be a ukulele and hula demonstration and workshop for participants to appreciate and know more about Hawaiian culture.
