Police clarify on Hong Kong Journalists Association’s allegations

     In response to Hong Kong Journalists Association's statement issued at about 3.30pm today (July 7) which alleged that Police had requested the MTR Corporation (MTRC) to refuse journalists from entering Hong Kong West Kowloon Station (WKS), and an updated statement issued at 4.30pm today, which alleged that Police and MTRC blocked WKS and refused journalists from entering WKS for news coverage. Police issued the following clarification:

     Police have not requested or suggested the MTRC to refuse journalists from entering WKS for news coverage. Police express the deepest disappointment and regret on these unfounded allegations.

     WKS is managed by the MTRC. Police respect the MTRC for taking measures at WKS and are actively assisting its arrangements in order to ensure the safety of every user.
