The Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, will depart for Osaka, Japan, at around midnight on June 27 (Thursday) to attend the Group of Twenty (G20) Leaders' Summit, which will be held on June 28 and 29, as part of the delegation of the People's Republic of China.
The Summit provides a platform for leaders of the world's major economies to discuss economic, financial, political and other areas for co-operation.
Mr Chan will return to Hong Kong in the evening on June 29. In his absence, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr James Lau, will act as the Financial Secretary on June 27 and 28, while the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Edward Yau, will act as the Financial Secretary on June 29.
