The Cuba Internet Task Force will hold its second public meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Harry S. Truman Building, 2201 C Street NW, Room 1107. The Task Force, a Department of State-sponsored advisory body composed of U.S. government and non-government representatives, aims to promote the free and unregulated flow of information into and within Cuba in accordance with the June 16, 2017 National Security Presidential Memorandum-5 “Strengthening the Policy of the United States Toward Cuba.” The Task Force examines the technological challenges and opportunities for expanding internet access and independent media in Cuba.
The Department hosted the Task Force’s first public meeting on February 7, 2018. Information for those wishing to attend the December 6, 2018 meeting is available in the Federal Register Notice published November 20, 2018.
