The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department today (September 27) urged the public to stop using 15 models of Ariston and Indesit tumble dryers as the manufacturer of the products found a potential risk of fire when excess fluff comes into contact with the dryers' heating element.
The 15 models of tumble dryers concerned were on sale from April 2004. The model numbers are:

Those who have purchased tumble dryers with the aforementioned model numbers should call the service hotline of the product supplier, General Appliance (HK) Ltd, at 3750 9199 to confirm whether their dryers are affected and arrange for product repairs accordingly.
General Appliance (HK) Ltd will publish the repair details of affected products in its website (www.gahk.com.hk) and newspapers tomorrow (September 28).
