19 building plans approved in July
The Buildings Department approved 19 building plans in July, with eight on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.
Of the approved plans, 12 were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments, and six were for community services development.
In the same month, consent was given for works to start on eight building projects which, when completed, will provide 101 907 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving 1 615 units, and 8 868 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for six building projects.
The department also issued eight occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 30 617 sq m involving 128 units, and 12 438 sq m was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $2.6 billion.
In addition, five demolition consents involving five building structures were issued.
The department received 2 547 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in July and issued 802 removal orders on UBWs.
